El automóvil se hace masivo (1910–1919)
La línea de montaje móvil que Ford estrenó en 1913 bajó el precio del automóvil hasta volverlo accesible a la clase media norteamericana. Mientras tanto, en Europa, la Gran Guerra convirtió a los fabricantes en proveedores militares y aceleró avances en motores y neumáticos.
De esta década sobreviven los últimos autos "de bronce" y los primeros de la era "vintage". El arranque eléctrico, patentado por Cadillac en 1912, eliminó la peligrosa manivela y abrió el auto al gran público.
